Link Africa (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for a Financial Accountant within the Durban region.

Job Purpose:

Financial Accountant responsibilities include budgeting, managing tax payments and performing internal audits. The incumbent will act as a consultant for senior managers, conducting cost and revenues analyses. Ultimately, the incumbent will ensure all our accounting transactions comply with the law and support our company’s investments.

Minimum Requirements

  • BCom Accounting with articles completed, CA (SA)
  • Minimum 1 year post articles experience
  • Broad knowledge of accounting practices (IFRS) etc
  • Experience in Telecommunications Industry is advantageous

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Calculation of Income and Deferred Tax
  • Assist with managing external audits
  • Assist the FM during the preparation of budgets and Forecasts
  • Assist with revenue reporting
  • Review of contractor payment files
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes
  • Oversee and manage leases
  • Identify and implement additional financial controls needed for IFRS for SMES/Full IFRS
  • Fixed Asset Management (Fixed assets master update, manage depreciation and wear and tear schedules, managed asset verifications)
  • Other ad hoc tasks required from Financial Manager
  • Work alongside the Financial Manager to enable the team to achieve its monthly accurate accounting and reporting objectives
  • Compilation of financial statements at individual and consolidated level on CaseWare
  • Assist with Due Diligence Reporting (ad hoc)
