Press Release – 25 March 2020
Link Africa eases the burden on the economy under pressure with comprehensive special packages for both their fibre to the home and small businesses.
Leading fibre operator, Link Africa said it’s working with their ISP partners to double the bandwidth to both existing customers and new customers on their networks at no additional cost. The fibre operator said it will work with the participating internet providers to ensure their clients remain connected to their workplace, schools, friends and relatives, as well as the world.
Craig Carthy, CEO of Link Africa said “our deal works for all home fibre clients (FTTH), existing and new clients, on the Link Africa network, regardless of their package size or area. This initiative is designed to ease the burden and will run until 17 July 2020 to help South Africans stay connected. We all need more bandwidth in our homes during social distancing,” Carthy said.
Additionally, Link Africa have announced that they have not forgotten small businesses in their connected malls in their efforts. With immediate effect, affordable broadband fibre services for small businesses in Link Africa’s connected malls will be available, via Link Africa’s wholesale ISP partners. “We are conscious of the fact the current crisis puts unprecedented financial pressure on small businesses and we are offering broadband fibre services at approximately half current FTTB prices. Call it our way of giving small business a bit of a leg up in these trying times” concludes Carthy.
Link Africa encourages customers on the Link Africa network and small businesses in the malls to discuss their needs with their ISPs and understand how they can benefit from these deals.
Initial Release – 19 March 2020
In response to the current global crisis, we are working with our ISP partners to ensure that their existing FTTH clients, on the Link Africa network, remain connected to their workplace, schools, friends and relatives, as well as the rest of the world.
Due to the nation having to practice social distancing, and in some cases, families are being self-quarantined, we are aware that there is a greater demand for internet-based services at home. In response to this demand, we are doubling all current FTTH users bandwidth, at no additional cost.
For example, if their current package is for 50GB, they will be able to get 100GB and still only pay their current package price. This deal works for all existing FTTH clients on the Link Africa Network, regardless of their package size or area. This initiative is designed to ease the burden until 17 July 2020 and to help South Africans stay connected. We all need more bandwidth in our homes during social distancing.
Existing FTTH users on the Link Africa Network should contact their ISP to see how they can benefit from this offer.
