Link Africa sells FTTH assets to Vumatel

As one of South Africa’s leading fibre optic network operators, Link Africa has recently experienced an unprecedented and substantial demand for fibre to the business (FTTb) connections whilst continuing to steadily grow the fibre to the home (FTTh) network. This has resulted in Link Africa’s resources being stretched between FTTb and FTTh demands.

Link Africa has decided to better service all our customers by maintaining an interest and focus on the FTTb customers by continuing to pass and connect these customers, while also offering new Ethernet services to ISPs. Because of this refocusing and the creation of the new arm of Link Africa’s business – focusing on the provision of wholesale Ethernet services – Link Africa is selling some of its FTTh assets to Vumatel, the affected areas being:

Beverley Hills Dainfern Golf Estate Dunkirk Forest Hills
Fourways Gardens Gillitts Ilala Izinga
Kloof Maytime Prestondale Seaward
Umdloti (Upper) Umhlanga (Upper) Vorna Valley

LinkAfrica has retained the following FTTh assets and we will provide wholesale FTTh services to these communities:

Constantia Stellenbosch Hawaan Simbithi Eco Estate
Victoria Country Club Waterkloof View

Going forward, Link Africa will continue to build FTTh assets in communities near our extensive core network. Most importantly, Link Africa will be focusing and promoting its new wholesale Ethernet offerings in addition to existing FTTb offerings.

We believe our new focus will present better and more exciting opportunities for ISPs, particularly for customers in areas that are close to our network.

Please do not hesitate to contact me on craig@linkafrica.co.za should you be interested in learning more about our new offerings.
